Healthy, youthful skin depends on elastin for elasticity, collagen for strength, and fibroblasts, to produce these essential proteins. As we age, this balance is disrupted: 

– Elastin Breakdown: Aging and environmental harm can damage elastin, which lowers resilience. 

– Fibroblast Deterioration: As fibroblasts become separated from the extracellular matrix, they lose their ability to produce collagen effectively. 

– Compromised ECM: Reduced collagen and elastin weaken the skin’s support structure, causing wrinkles and loose and rough texture.  

The Alma Hybrid interrupts this deterioration, replenishing skin vitality by addressing the root causes. 

The Alma Hybrid™️ Laser is a highly versatile, customisable, safe and effective skin resurfacing treatment that is considered superior to other laser devices on the market due to its advanced technology and ability to produce natural-looking results with minimal downtime. 

This treatment combines both fractionated ablative and non-ablative laser technology.  These are terms that refer to the differing layers of the skin that are targeted by the two processes. 

Ablative laser technology: The ablative laser component of the Alma HybridTM Laser works by removing the outermost layers of skin to reveal fresh new skin beneath. This reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the deeper layers of the skin. 

Non-ablative laser technology: The non-ablative laser component of the Alma HybridTM Laser works by heating the deeper layers of the skin without damaging the outer layers. This triggers the body's natural healing response, leading to the production of new collagen and elastin. The result is tighter and firmer skin. 

The combination of these technologies in the Alma HybridTM Laser allows for focussed and individualised treatments for our clients.

FAQs

  • The safety and effectiveness of Alma HybridTM Laser is FDA-approved, and is particularly suitable for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, and acne scars.

  • Most of our clients describe a mild heating sensation during the treatment. We apply a numbing cream prior to the treatment to increase your comfort.  The amount of downtime will vary, depending on the treatment and parameters used.

    The Hybrid lift option combines the CO2 and 1570 nm lasers and you may experience redness, dryness and notice a gridlock pattern for 3 to 7 days depending on the area and settings used.  

    The Softlift ( lunchtime rejuvenation) options uses the 1570 nm laser only and there is very little downtime. Slight redness may be experienced on the day of your treatment, which will resolve in a  few hours.

    The hybrid OScar treatment is the superior treatment for the resolution of all types of scarring, from acne and stretch marks, to surgical scarring.   It combines CO2 and 1570 nm lasers and the treatment is customised according to the type of scar concern.  Downtime is similar to the Hybrid lift. 

  • 1-3  treatments every 4 to 8 weeks and then ideally maintenance every 12 months? 

  • 60 minutes.

  • Following your treatment, you may feel a sensation similar to a mild sunburn.  Redness and some swelling is to be expected and may be experienced for up to five days.   Other possible effects that our clients sometimes experience include very light superficial bleeding, along with flaking and dryness.  There will be a natural process of exfoliation as new skin replaces older tissue.

  • Expect some redness for 1-3 days and dry-feeling skin for 3-7 days.
