The BBL Forever Clear treatment session involves a dedicated 3-phase process.

  • The first phase uses blue light to eliminate acne-causing P.Acnes bacteria deep within the skin’s pores, which reduces and improves active acne and prevent new break-outs

  • The second phase uses yellow/red light to reduce inflammation and acne-associated redness to resolve active acne and reduce scarring.

  • The skin then receives a third treatment of infrared light to stimulate the body’s natural healing process, reduce the appearance of existing scars and enhance the benefits of the first two steps.

FAQs

  • Before your treatment we will guide you through a full consultation to ensure that Forever Clear BBL is the right treatment for your particular concerns. Once a treatment plan has been decided, your eyes will be protected with safety goggles or glasses. The sensation of this treatment is similar to a warm snap of an elastic band as the light is absorbed by certain areas of your skin.

    A topical local anaesthesia may be applied to more sensitive areas, however pain relief is often not required. The procedure will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area that is being treated. 

    The procedure is gentle and very safe. The BBL technology is very advanced so the filters can also be used on higher risk skin types (darker skin) where traditional IPL methods have previously been unable to treat.

    In some instances you will be prescribed a lightening cream or skin preparation cream for two-four weeks before the treatment to ensure your skin is in optimal condition. Treatment of the underlying causes of acne will also be recommended.  

    We also advise that sun exposure, tanning and fake tan is to be avoided for a minimum of two weeks before your treatment to ensure the best long term results.

  • Following the treatment there will be some redness and heat in your skin, however in general you should be able to return to work and your normal schedule straight away. You can apply makeup but we do recommend that you avoid sun exposure, any excess heat or strenuous exercise.

    Some redness may last a few hours. Often you may experience an initial ridding response in the skin, which shows as a temporary flare of acne due to deep congestion. Results can depend on the initial condition of the skin, the number of treatments performed, the areas treated and how well you are able to follow on with after care, lifestyle adjustments and home skin care recommendations.

    Full aftercare instructions will be provided following the treatment.

    Redness can last for a few hours and within a few days any marks of pigmentation will darken and gradually flake off and fade. This process may take up to two weeks, although makeup can be used to cover these temporary effects. Following the BBL procedure you can expect smoother, more refined skin, visibly fewer fine lines and pores and improved skin tone and colour. 

    These results do depend on the initial condition of your skin, the number of treatments performed, the particular areas treated and how well you are able to follow after care and sun avoidance advice.
