Clinical Peels
Clinical peels utilise the power of natural ingredients to promote gentle exfoliation and stimulate your skin’s natural renewal process.
Peels are designed to treat concerns relating to:
Texture
Enlarged pores
Redness
Hyperpigmentation
Scarring
PIE/PIH
Fine lines and wrinkles
Depleted collagen
Sun damage
Unlike traditional chemical peels, the peel treatments at The Skin Company utilise powerful natural ingredients, including alpha and beta hydroxy acids, enzymes and vitamins. The synergies of these components blended together promote gentle exfoliation and stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process.
By exfoliating dead skin cells and promoting collagen production, peels help improve skin texture, tone, and overall radiance. The Skin Company recommends their peel treatments as a natural approach for clients with sensitive skin who may be hesitant to undergo traditional chemical peels. The gentle yet effective exfoliation process minimises irritation and adverse reactions, ensuring a comfortable experience for all skin types.

A Skin Company dermal therapist will guide you through a thorough initial consultation and then create an individualised treatment plan to address your concerns. The treatment plan will include which type and depth of chemical peel is suitable and the appropriate intervals between treatments.
Following the consultation, you will leave with a course of dedicated home care products to prepare and optimise your skin for the procedure.
It is essential to avoid sun exposure, tanning, exfoliation and skin care products, other than those prescribed, before the treatment as this may affect your final result and cause unwanted side effects. By following the pre-treatment skin preparation schedule you can optimise your results and reduce the risk of side effects and downtime.
During your treatment, your face will be cleansed and the peeling solution applied. Depending on the type of peel, this will be left on for the required time period and then either neutralized or washed off soon after. In some cases, we may advise that the peel remains on your face and will remain on as you leave the clinic.
Clinical peels are not painful in general. Many clients tell us that they only feel a slight tingling and stinging sensation afterwards. In cases of deeper and stronger chemical peels, the discomfort may be slightly increased and we will use a fan to cool your face during treatment. Afterwards you will feel a slight tingling and the skin will look red and flushed.
The Skin Company can perform this procedure as part of a package of different skin treatments including BBL and skin needling, or as a stand alone treatment on the day.

You can expect that your face will feel slightly flushed and irritated.
There may be some mild skin shedding and peeling after a period of three to five days. The extent of this effect depends on the strength and depth of the peel and can range from almost nothing, to five days of skin shedding. If your treatment involves a deeper peel, your skin can appear pink for a few months afterwards.
The downtime associated with this treatment is minimal and aside from the effect of skin peeling, many of our clients return to work the next day. A Skin Company dermal therapist will explain the related down time for your individulised course of chemical peels during your consultation.
It is important to follow your aftercare instructions and not to touch any peeling that may occur. Handling the treated areas can increase the risk of issues such as scarring and infection. We also recommend that you wear and apply protective covering for your skin to avoid exposure to the sun, and that you avoid any active skin care remedies (such as vitamin A) until advised by The Skin Company, to prevent interference with the post-procedure healing process.
