  • Before your treatment, we will guide you through a comprehensive consultation focused on assessing your needs and areas of concern.  This will include clinical photography and a skin assessment.  We will also discuss and decide on whether other complementary treatments may be necessary.   The Skin Company provides customised treatment plans with a focus on delivering the best possible results and a natural, balanced appearance. 

    Contouring injectable treatments often involve some discomfort.  A prescribed numbing cream or local anaesthetic will be administered to counter this.  The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes, or longer if your treatment plan includes multiple areas of application.  The injectable treatment involves the injection of a gel-type fluid through small needles into the areas of concern, using techniques that allocate the filler in a smooth and even distribution.

    The injection takes effect immediately, but you may notice some swelling for one to two days, which can temporarily mask the true effect.  The injectable filler may require three to four weeks to equalise and completely settle into your skin.  The Skin Company recommends a follow-up consultation at this point, to review your results and determine the next step of your treatment.

    We recommend that the following considerations are very important to lower the risk of side effects and to ensure the best results from your treatment:

    • Apply ice or a cold compress to reduce discomfort, swelling and bruising.

    • Do not apply any makeup to the treated area for at least 24 hours

    • Do not lie down immediately after, or do strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours.

    • Do not have any facial treatment, such as laser or peels, for at least two weeks. 

    • Do not handle your face or apply pressure to the treated area.
