Excel HR
CUTERA Excel HR is the latest new generation laser technology for targeted hair removal. Excel HR delivers power, precision, and performance enabling The Skin Company to safely and successfully reduce hair from many body areas.
Featuring two clinically proven advanced 755nm/1064nm wavelengths and a smart-sapphire cooling system, the technology removes unnecessary collateral tissue damage and downtime, while also delivering a treatment designed to increase your comfort.
The CUTERA Excel HR procedure is FDA approved, extremely safe, and recognised for its effectiveness, with many of our patients reporting a more comfortable experience compared to other laser hair removal procedures.
Lasers work by treating the skin with a particular wavelength of light. Wavelengths are chosen depending on the absorption of the laser beam by the targeted biological tissue. Specific wavelengths are associated with particular results, because they are absorbed by the specific chromophores that the treatment is focused on. For example, darker hair absorbs 1064 nm wavelength safely, while lighter hair absorbs 755 nm.
The Excel HR laser features continuous cooling before, during, and after each pulse of energy, to improve your comfort and safety.
Laser hair removal targets the root of a hair follicle in its growth phase. With four different phases for each hair, the CUTERA Excel HR laser will select only hairs in the growth phase and prevent the hair from growing further.
During a two week period, the hair will cease to function and will be rejected at its root by your body. This hair will not grow again. In your next treatment, the remaining hairs in the growth phase will be treated and removed and this procedure may be repeated again through your treatment course.
Laser hair removal is always offered in a course of six treatments initially. Further treatment may be recommended for you as required.
Laser hair removal will continue to be managed with maintenance treatments, as further new hairs may appear in the treated area. These maintenance treatments can be performed every 6-12 months to maintain clear skin. For this reason laser hair treatment is often referred to as laser hair reduction rather than removal.
While temporary redness and swelling are normal, severe pain, excessive swelling, blistering, or signs of infection are uncommon.
